When you must use a Word application form

You must download and complete a Word application form if your project involves either:

• dredge and disposal, or
• marine aggregates

The online service cannot currently be used for these types of application.

When you can choose how to apply

If your project does not involve dredge and disposal or marine aggregates, then you can choose to apply by either:

• downloading and completing a Word application form, or
• using the online licensing service

Both options lead to the same marine licensing process.

Use this option if:

• your project involves dredge and disposal, or marine aggregates, or
• you prefer to complete your application offline

Use the online service if:

• your activity is supported by the service
• you want to apply and submit documents digitally
• you want to track the progress of your application
